Amman: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, on Tuesday received International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Mirjana Spoljaric Egger and her accompanying delegation. The meeting centered on strengthening the collaboration between the Jordan Armed Forces and the ICRC, focusing on humanitarian assistance, relief programs, and the exchange of expertise in international humanitarian law.
According to Jordan News Agency, Huneiti, accompanied by several senior armed forces officers, emphasized the crucial role of the ICRC in delivering support and assistance to those affected by conflicts and disasters. He lauded the ongoing cooperation between the Jordan Armed Forces and the ICRC in various humanitarian domains.
Egger, on her part, expressed gratitude for the Jordan Armed Forces' efforts in bolstering humanitarian activities. She highlighted the significance of maintaining joint cooperation to support shared humanitarian goals, reinforcing the partnership between the ICRC and Jordan in addressing humanitarian challenges.
