Amman: Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, Chief of the Joint Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmed Huneiti attended the JAF's ceremony held on Thursday to mark the 58th anniversary of the Al Karamah Battle.
According to Jordan News Agency, the event was held at the memorial site for the martyrs of the Al Karamah Battle, also known as the Monument of the Unknown Soldier. Upon his arrival at the ceremony site, Huneiti was received by several senior JAF officers and reviewed the guard of honor that had lined up to greet him.
Huneiti laid a wreath at the memorial in commemoration of the martyrs' sacrifices. Later, he reviewed the names of martyrs from the army's formations and units that participated in the Al Karamah Battle.
In commemorating the battle's anniversary, the JAF affirms its pride in the heroism of its martyrs and their continued commitment to defending the Kingdom and preserving its resources. The JAF also recalls the values of sacrifice embodied in the battle to maintain vivid memories in the hearts of future generations.
