Amman: President of the Arab Parliament Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi emphasized that the Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed amid critical humanitarian and political challenges due to ongoing actions by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip and increasing attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem. Palestinians are experiencing severe conditions including blockade, displacement, and systematic violations described as war crimes and genocide.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Yamahi stated that this observance is not just symbolic but represents a renewal of a solid Arab and international commitment to support Palestinian rights. He called for reinforced parliamentary and diplomatic efforts to alleviate Palestinian suffering and support their pursuit of legitimate rights.
Al-Yamahi pointed out that the Israeli occupation violates the Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement by continuing military operations, obstructing humanitarian aid, expanding settlements, and allowing settler violence against Palestinians, which contravenes international agreements and UN resolutions.
On this occasion, Al-Yamahi appealed to the international community to fulfill its legal and humanitarian duties, lift protection from Israeli occupation practices, enforce an immediate ceasefire, and ensure unhindered aid delivery. He urged the United Nations and international bodies to take concrete actions to hold Israeli authorities accountable for persistent crimes and to support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
