Arab Parliament calls int’l conference on Palestinian prisoners

The Arab Parliament Sunday called an international conference on the issue of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons and urged action against Israeli violations against prisoners.

The pan-Arab legislature called on the international community, as well as international and regional rights groups, to obligate the Israeli authorities to respect and implement the international law, especially the Geneva Convention, to put an end to the suffering of Palestinian prisoners under “administrative detention.”

It held the Israeli authorities and occupation forces accountable for the safety of Palestinian prisoners.

It refloated its proposal to the UN to form a factfinding commission to investigate the Israeli authorities’ violations in prisons against Palestinians, reiterating its “full” support for Palestinians in Israeli prisons.
