Arab league condemns Israeli settlers’ storming of Al Aqsa Mosque

The Arab League Sunday inveighed against the Israeli Jewish settlers’ storming of Al Aqsa Mosque earlier in the day.

Jamal Rushdie, a spokesman for the Secretary-General, held the Israeli government responsible for allowing extremist settlers, including members of the Knesset, to further escalate the situation in this dangerous way.

Rushdie noted that the Israeli violations in occupied Jerusalem coincide with the “brutal” military campaign in Gaza and would contribute to igniting the situation and expanding the circle of violence by provoking the Palestinians.
