Arab league calls raising awareness on migration

Cairo, The League of Arab Sunday said it is “important” to educate people on migration issues and design policies through coordination amongst Arab League member states, according to a statement.

On the occasion of the “Arab Expatriate Day,” the pan-Arab organisation called for enhancing Arab participation in global events related to migration, noting the importance of improving migration governance and addressing the challenges associated with it and enhancing the contributions of Arab immigrants to sustainable development in their countries of origin and countries of immigration.

The statement that there is an urgent need to shed light on the relationship between climate, migration and development, identify potential hotspots for internal and external migration and the possibilities of adapting to migration due to climate change.
