Amman: The Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel carried out raids against suspected drug dealers and traffickers over the past few days as part of 10 cases and security campaigns across the Kingdom, arresting 28 wanted suspects, alleged dealers, and traffickers and seizing large quantities of narcotics and firearms.
According to Jordan News Agency, in one of the main cases, officers raided the location of an armed suspect classified as dangerous in Maan Governorate. The man, who had been wanted for an extended period in connection with drug offenses, attempted murder, kidnapping, forming a criminal gang, and firearms offenses, was arrested with 43,000 narcotic pills and three firearms, including an automatic weapon.
In western Irbid Governorate, officers raided the locations of five wanted and suspected individuals, arresting them and seizing 30 slabs of hashish from one of them. A second campaign in Southern Shouneh in Balqa Governorate resulted in the arrest of five wanted individuals, with five slabs of hashish, two automatic weapons, and two other firearms seized from one suspect.
A third campaign in southern Amman resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of various quantities of narcotics. In the Central Badia, six people were arrested in another campaign, with narcotics and firearms seized from their possession.
In Amman, the department handled two drug trafficking and distribution cases. In the first, three suspected dealers were arrested during a raid, and 250 grams of crystal methamphetamine and two firearms were seized. In the second, officers raided and arrested a suspected dealer and seized six slabs of hashish.
In the Central Badia, officers raided the location of a suspected drug trafficker and arrested him, seizing 4,000 narcotic pills and four slabs of hashish.
In Zarqa, officers raided a farm allegedly used by two drug traffickers, arresting both and seizing four slabs of hashish, a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, and a firearm.
In the final case, in Irbid, one person was arrested with five slabs of hashish and 1,000 narcotic pills.
