Amman: The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) officers have successfully arrested 13 drug dealers and smugglers across different governorates, seizing large quantities of narcotics in a significant crackdown on drug-related activities.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) reported that one of the most notable operations involved the raid and arrest of a dangerous drug dealer in the central desert region. The authorities captured the suspect with 6 kg of crystal methamphetamine and 7,000 narcotic pills in their possession.
In another case within the same area, law enforcement officials apprehended another highly dangerous and armed dealer. The raid led to the confiscation of 23 slabs of hashish and 1 kg of crystal methamphetamine.
In the eastern part of Amman, two separate cases were addressed. In the first, a dealer was arrested after a raid, leading to the seizure of 1 kg of cocaine, 34 slabs of hashish, and two firearms. The second case resulted in the confiscation of 30 slabs of hashish from three individuals distributing the drugs to local dealers.
Further south in Amman, two drug dealers were taken into custody, with authorities seizing 1.5 kg of marijuana, 1,000 narcotic pills, and five slabs of hashish.
At the Jaber border crossing, in collaboration with Jordanian Customs and other security agencies, two drug smuggling attempts were intercepted. In the first incident, two individuals were caught attempting to smuggle 215,000 narcotic pills concealed in hidden compartments inside a cargo vehicle. In the second, three individuals were arrested for the attempted smuggling of 30,000 pills using a passenger vehicle.
