Ruwaished: The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), in coordination with security bodies, carried out a joint operation in Ruwaished district, targeting individuals suspected of drug smuggling via airborne balloons, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said. The PSD's media spokesperson announced that six suspects were arrested in raids conducted across seven different locations. The authorities successfully seized quantities of narcotic pills, smuggling balloons, and firearms during the operation.
According to Jordan News Agency, among those apprehended was a highly dangerous individual. Additionally, a second suspect was found in possession of 20,000 drug pills, while a third had 5,000 pills. In a separate operation in Balqa Governorate, four wanted drug traffickers were arrested, including another dangerous suspect, and various narcotics and firearms were confiscated.
In Karak Governorate, security forces, acting on intelligence, raided the location of a notorious drug dealer. The operation led to the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of 1,100 narcotic pills and a firearm. Meanwhile, in Amman, two individuals dealing in crystal meth were captured, with authorities confiscating quantities of the drug along with 1,000 narcotic pills found in their possession.
The PSD spokesperson further reported that in Madaba Governorate, a drug dealer was apprehended in his vehicle. Officers seized a substantial amount of drugs, including 1 kilogram of crystal meth and 30 packages of hashish, highlighting the wide-reaching impact of the coordinated crackdown on illegal drug activities.
