Amman to Host 6th Arab Dialogue Workshop on Energy Security

Amman: The Arab Renewable Energy Commission (AREC), in collaboration with the Jordanian Renewable Energy Society, is set to organize the 6th Arab Dialogue Workshop in Amman, focusing on "Arab Energy Security is the Key to Global Energy Security."

According to Jordan News Agency, AREC Secretary-General Mohammed Taani emphasized Jordan's innovative solutions for energy sovereignty in the Middle East. He attributed this to the country's infrastructure for renewable energy, electric vehicles, and energy storage, along with effective legislation and regulations that promote energy democracy and flexibility.

Scheduled for May 20 and 21, the workshop aims to transform the energy landscape in the region, with significant geopolitical ramifications. Taani highlighted that the stability of global energy supply chains relies on integrating the Arab energy system and shifting towards sustainability.

The event will serve as an analytical platform, addressing energy sovereignty issues objectively. Taani mentioned that the dialogues will focus on peace as a foundation for development, stressing the importance of political stability in attracting green investments.

The discussions will also showcase the Jordanian model, which envisions off-grid systems as a vital component for national security.
