Amman Ranked Top Student City in Arab World, Middle East by QS

Amman: Amman has been named the leading student city in the Arab world and the broader Middle East, ranking 64th globally in the 2026 edition of the QS Best Student Cities index.

According to Jordan News Agency, a statement issued by the University of Jordan highlights that the annual QS ranking, considered one of the most influential benchmarks in global higher education, serves as a key international indicator of the quality of the academic and living environment offered to both local and international students.

The statement noted that Amman outperformed several major regional cities in the latest edition of the index, bolstering its standing as a premier and attractive destination for higher education in the region.

The QS ranking is based on a range of rigorous criteria, including the quality and reputation of local universities, the diversity of student nationalities, the proportion of international students, safety, quality of life, affordability, and feedback from students who have studied in the city. It also takes into account the employability of graduates and the strength of their reputation in the job market.

This achievement reflects the ongoing efforts of Jordan’s higher education institutions to enhance the academic ecosystem and attract students from around the world. These efforts contribute to promoting cultural and academic diversity across the Kingdom.
