Amman:Amman Prosecutor General Hassan Al-Abdallat has imposed a gag order on the investigation regarding the incident near Hamoud Church in Karak Governorate. This decision is in accordance with Article 39 of the Publications and Publishing Law and Article 225 of the Penal Code.
According to Jordan News Agency, the order mandates that all audiovisual, print, and digital media outlets, along with social media platforms, must abstain from publishing any news or details related to the case or the ongoing investigation. The order aims to prevent any influence on the administration of justice, with violators facing potential legal and judicial consequences.
The ban also extends to restricting the circulation of information about the publication ban itself. However, official government media under the Ministry of Government Communication's supervision are exempt from this restriction. Additionally, the prohibition includes the distribution or republication of photographs, videos, or any information related to the ongoing investigation.
