Amman Marathon to bring road closures this Friday

Gearing up for the 42km Amman Marathon next Friday, organizers have put in a place an alternative route for traffic.

In a statement on Monday, the Jordan Marathon Association said that the necessary arrangements for road closures, which will begin at dawn and end at noon, are completed, adding that traffic department officers will be present on the day of the event to ensure that the reroute goes smoothly.

The roads that will be closed for the marathon include: the road leading to al-Jaish Street from the Zarqa highway, the road leading to downtown from Jabal Amman, the third roundabout to downtown, and the road leading to downtown Amman, the road from Queen Alia Street to al-Dakhiliyah roundabout (Al Madinah Al Riyadiah Street), and the road from Queen Noor Street to the Fourth Circle.

Other roads that will be closed are: the road from Oqba Bin Nafeh Street to Princess Basma Street and Wadi Abdoun, the road from Princess Basma Street to the al-Muhajireen traffic light, the road from al-Qaisiya roundabout to al-Muhajireen Street, the Hay Nazzal road to downtown, the al-Misdar road to downtown, the from Ain Ghazal Street to Ras al-Ain, and the road from al-Wehdat to the al-Misdar road.
