Agriculture minister meets ICRC team

Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Abdul-Malik al-Thawr, met on Monday in Sana’a with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) team headed by the Economic Security Coordinator in Yemen, Abdul Razzaq Muallem.

In the meeting, al-Thawr and Muallem discussed the interventions and activities of the committee in a number of provinces as well as the work plan for the current year regarding the agricultural sector, and work to address the difficulties and problems facing this sector.

They focused on the committee’s role in implementing veterinary vaccination campaigns for livestock in a number of provinces and its contribution to providing refrigerators, vaccines, supplies and veterinary tools.

The importance of intervention in supporting the infrastructure of the livestock sector was emphasized, including the provision of devices and equipment for the veterinary laboratory in Sana’a for livestock, as well as the establishment of beekeeping centers in a number of provinces to support the bee sector, which is one of the economic resources in the country, which provides job opportunities for many were also reviewed.
