Agents bust bid to smuggle narcotics fed to lambs

Anti-narcotics agents have foiled a novel attempt to smuggle out drugs force-fed to an outbound shipment of live lambs, according to a Public Security Department (PSD) statement issued Thursday.

The PSD said that two months ago anti-narcotics officers had been tipped off that a drug smuggling attempt was in the making involving the use of lambs as mules. The PSD added that the traffickers force fed the animals a total of 500,000 pills of narcotics packaged in plastic tubes.

Although the bust occurred two months ago, two suspects have been on the run since then until one of them was arrested yesterday. The other suspect is still at large, the PSD indicated.
