ACC issues 15,684 certificates of origin in H1 of 2021

The number of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) in the first half of 2021 to export goods went up by 18 percent from 13,242 to 15,684 certificates in the same period of last year.

The value of certificates of origin in the first half of 2021 totaled JD312 million against JD393 million in the same period of 2020, constituting a 21 percent drop, the chamber said in a statement.

The ACC noted that a total of 3,302 certificates were issued for shipments exported to Saudi Arabia, followed by Kuwait (3,287), UAE (2,384), Iraq (762) and Egypt with 449 certificates.

The majority of exports last year went to Iraq, which accounted for JD91 million, followed by the UAE and Saudi Arabia and Egypt with JD25 million each, and Kuwait with JD17 million.

With regard to foreign product exports “re-exports”, the chamber said they amounted to about JD161 million, while agricultural products exports reached JD61, industrial products exports reached JD53 million, and Arab products hit JD15 million.
