The Ministry of Human Rights condemned on Saturday the closure and deletion of the channels and pages of the national media by "YouTube" and "Facebook".
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the ministry denounced the role of the mercenary government in the crime of closing and blocking the free national media channels, stressing that these tools do not escape accountability and punishment.
She emphasized that the continued closure and blocking of Yemeni channels and pages constitutes a violation of international humanitarian principles, freedom of the press and media, and the right of citizens to know, access information and use the Internet, which are rights stipulated and protected by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
The statement pointed out that this act is further evidence of the lies and falsity of those who raise the slogans of freedom of expression and praise the laws that protect this right, and they are the first to violate international laws and norms.
He pointed out that this act comes in the context of the continued complicity of the international system with the US-Saudi aggression coalition by withholding the truth from global public opinion regarding what Yemen is exposed to, on the ground and human being, of crimes and violations as a result of the aggression and the blockade.
The Ministry of Human Rights appreciated the prominent role of the national media in exposing the truth and exposing the crimes and massacres of those who glorify humanity and freedom of opinion. Calling on all workers in the national audio-visual and print media, and all activists on the communication sites, to continue monitoring the crimes and violations of aggression and to communicate the grievances of the Yemeni people to world public opinion.
The ministry expressed its hope for a solidarity position on the part of international institutions and organizations, condemning these crimes by the companies "YouTube and Facebook" and standing firmly against the confiscation of the rights of the Yemeni people.
