The national table tennis team for men has emerged victorious at the Arab Table Tennis Championship hosted in the Iraqi city of Sulaymaniyah. The tournament, which featured 158 players from nine countries, including Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Qatar, and Jordan, witnessed some intense matches. The national team, comprising Zaid Abu Yemen, Ziyad Aziz, Hassan Al-Hourani, and Khaled Basem, triumphed in the final match against Bahrain. The game, held on Monday night, saw the national team win with a score of 3-0, showcasing their exceptional skills, and dominance. The squad had also won the championship title in the previous edition held in Amman in 2021 by defeating the Egyptian team in the final match. The team's impressive display of skill and teamwork has earned them recognition as one of the top table tennis teams in the Arab region.
