Iraq, Iran Hold political Consultation Round

A round of political consultation was held on Tuesday between Iraq and Iran.

Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Hussein Bahr Al Uloom headed the Iraqi side, while Undersecretary of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani headed the Irani side.

In a statement, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the session discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues of common interest, in addition to ways to overcome obstacles to bilateral cooperation at various levels.

The ministry added that the talks focused on security and political files, such as the war on terrorism.

The two sides agreed to hold the next round of political consultations in Tehran in 2024 to discuss the progress made in all relevant files.
