According to Jordan News Agency, Carey's remarks came after his visit to Hikma's manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ohio. During his visit, he toured the newly expanded production lines and interacted with employees.
Carey commended the pharmaceutical company's role in creating local jobs and producing high-quality, affordable generic medicines, contributing to lower healthcare costs for American consumers. The visit follows the White House's commendation of Hikma's $267 million investment to expand its facilities in Columbus and Bedford, Ohio, an initiative expected to create 350 new jobs.
The congressman highlighted his return to the Columbus site 16 months after attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the new wing, which is set to become fully operational next year. He reaffirmed his support for Hikma's continued investments in Ohio, emphasizing its contributions to providing well-paying jobs and bolstering critical healthcare infrastructure.
