Seoul:Northern Jordan Valley All roads in the Northern Jordan Valley have been reopened following closures caused by heavy rain, flash floods, and soil erosion. The closures were a result of severe downpours and strong winds that hit the area on Tuesday evening, according to Abdul Rahman Rababah, the district's administrator.
According to Jordan News Agency, the reopening was made possible by the efforts of municipal crews and teams from the Public Works Ministry, Jordan Valley Authority, and other departments dedicated to maintaining traffic flow and ensuring public safety.
Rababah stated that ongoing efforts are focused on clearing culverts and drainage channels clogged by soil and rocks. Operations have been particularly concentrated on the Northern Jordan Valley international highway, where debris removal is underway, as well as in neighborhoods affected by silt and rocks carried by flash floods from nearby mountains and valleys.
Additionally, Rababah mentioned that some homes experienced flooding during the storm. Power has been restored across all areas of the district that faced outages due to damaged power grids and utility poles.
Local residents and livestock herders have been advised to avoid wadi channels and flood-prone areas to prevent accidents related to flash floods. Round-the-clock operations centers have been established within the district administration, municipalities, and relevant departments, with shelters available for emergency situations.
