Amman:The Jordan Armed Forces' Eastern Military Zone successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics into Jordan using guided balloons early Sunday.
According to Jordan News Agency, border guard units detected the balloons as they attempted to cross into Jordanian territory. The units swiftly intercepted the balloons, bringing them down within the Kingdom's borders.
The seized narcotics were confiscated in coordination with military and security agencies, alongside the Anti-Narcotics Department. The materials were then referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.
The Jordan Armed Forces have reiterated their commitment to countering infiltration and smuggling attempts, monitoring evolving smuggling methods, and implementing necessary operational measures to prevent such activities.
