ACI Workshop Highlights “Made in Jordan” Program Initiatives

Amman:The Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) recently conducted a workshop focusing on the "Made in Jordan" program, which is designed to promote Jordanian products of high quality in both local and international markets.

According to Jordan News Agency, the workshop featured participation from Chamber Director General Nael Husami and Colombian expert Leon Trujillo, and was supported by the IPSD project funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). It gathered representatives from industrial companies across various sectors and members of the program's higher steering committee.

The discussions at the workshop included an evaluation of the "Made in Jordan" program, which the chamber developed in collaboration with several ministries and institutions involved in the industrial sector. The program aims to create a distinctive brand for Jordanian products, enhance confidence in their quality in the domestic market, and boost their competitiveness internationally.

Participants explored strategies for coordinating efforts between the chamber, ministries, and relevant institutions to further the program's objectives. Trujillo provided insights into the program's work plan and its progress, making comparisons with similar initiatives worldwide. He highlighted the program's strengths and weaknesses, along with the opportunities and challenges for Jordanian industry in both local and global markets.

The program is intended to support industrial development and the national economy by increasing the industrial sector's contribution to GDP and generating job opportunities for Jordanians. Trujillo, an expert in country and sector branding, industrial competitiveness, intellectual property, regional marketing, and sustainable value chains, has previously worked on developing a branding strategy for Jordan's olive oil sector.
