Tunis:Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) Board of Commissioners Chair Daifallah Farajat and UAE Ambassador to Jordan Sultan Shamsi engaged in discussions on Tuesday aimed at expanding cooperation in air transport between the two nations.
According to Jordan News Agency, Farajat and Shamsi highlighted the significant volume of air traffic between Jordan and the UAE, which represents approximately 14 percent of the total operations at Queen Alia International Airport. This makes the UAE the second-largest destination market for airlines operating to and from Jordan.
The discussions underscored a strategic partnership based on a 1972 bilateral air services agreement. This agreement has been continuously updated over the years, facilitating passenger and cargo transit and promoting growth in trade and tourism.
Farajat extended his welcome to Shamsi in his new diplomatic role, expressing wishes for success in strengthening the ties between Jordan and the UAE. Both sides expressed their commitment to ongoing coordination and the exchange of commemorative plaques to honor their diplomatic relations.
