Accra:The National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) recently organized a workshop under the "ORIENTEET" project, focusing on stakeholder engagement to enhance networking and expertise sharing.
According to Jordan News Agency, the workshop sessions emphasized the importance of innovation in converting agricultural waste into economically and environmentally valuable resources. Discussions centered around the challenges and opportunities in managing and reusing agricultural waste, highlighting stakeholders' roles in developing practical and viable solutions.
Participants explored the reuse of olive pomace and olive mill wastewater, discussing both technical and economic methods for their integration into the circular economy. The event also underscored the significance of scientific research and innovation in improving resource efficiency, reducing waste, and fostering new economic opportunities.
The "ORIENTEET" project includes a training program aimed at building capacity and developing skills related to agricultural waste reuse. Ala’a Wahbeh, Project Coordinator in Jordan, stressed the importance of involving stakeholders and aligning scientific research with the actual needs of Jordan's agricultural sector.
