Amman:Social Development Minister Wafaa Bani Mustafa announced that the ministry will begin replacing unsafe heaters tomorrow, following a directive from Prime Minister Jafar Hassan given at last week's cabinet meeting.
According to Jordan News Agency, applications for the heater replacement will be accepted at the ministry's centers across the Kingdom's governorates and districts. This initiative aims to provide those in need with access to safe heaters.
The application process is focused solely on the replacement of unsafe heaters and is not linked to any cash or in-kind aid programs, which have their own specific targeting criteria and conditions.
Minister Bani Mustafa emphasized that the initiative underscores a commitment to citizen safety by offering safe heating alternatives to prevent accidents before winter arrives. Last winter, the government, in partnership with Tkiyet Um Ali, replaced 16,000 unsafe heaters, which helped reduce heating-related accidents.
