Unstable Weather and Rain Expected Across the Kingdom Through Monday

Amman:Temperatures will remain moderate across most parts of the Kingdom on Friday, while relatively hot conditions are anticipated in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, as reported by the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

According to Jordan News Agency, clouds are expected at various altitudes, with eastern and southeastern regions likely experiencing weak atmospheric instability in the afternoon, resulting in scattered showers that may occasionally be accompanied by thunder.

Moderate northeasterly winds will prevail, at times picking up and stirring dust, especially in the Badia regions, before shifting to a northwesterly direction in the evening. The JMD has warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to dust in the Badia and fog over the northern high mountain areas during early morning hours. Motorists are advised to be cautious of slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall.

On Saturday, similar weather patterns are expected, with moderate temperatures across most regions and relatively hot conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Scattered showers are anticipated in parts of the southern and eastern regions, occasionally accompanied by lightning and thunder. Winds will continue to be moderate northeasterly, sometimes increasing in speed.

Sunday will see the effects of atmospheric instability spreading to wider areas of the Kingdom, bringing scattered showers to various regions, including Aqaba. Thunder may accompany the rainfall, and the instability is expected to intensify in the afternoon with brief periods of heavy rain in the eastern and southern regions, accompanied by thunder and hail. Moderate southeasterly winds will occasionally strengthen, stirring dust, particularly in the Badia.

The weather instability is forecast to persist into Monday with scattered showers in several areas. Rainfall could become heavy in parts of the eastern regions and may be accompanied by thunder and hail. Winds will be moderate easterly, occasionally increasing and raising dust, particularly in the Badia regions.

Today, temperatures in eastern Amman are expected to range between 17°C and 30°C, compared to 16°C and 29°C in western Amman, 15°C and 27°C in the northern highlands, and 14°C and 26°C in the Sharah Highlands. The Badia regions will see temperatures between 17°C and 33°C, while the plains will range from 17°C to 30°C.
