Amman:Youth Minister Raed Adwan emphasized that youth affairs are a permanent royal priority and central to Jordan's efforts in political, economic, and administrative modernization during a meeting on Tuesday.
According to Jordan News Agency, Adwan discussed the National Youth Strategy 2026-2030 with ambassadors from donor countries and representatives of United Nations agencies. He described it as a unified national framework and a binding reference for the government and international partners to allocate resources and implement policies targeting youth priorities through a measurable executive plan.
The meeting, which included Secretary-General of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation Omar Al-Fanek, examined the strategy's development process. Adwan noted that input was gathered from the 2025 National Youth Survey, involving over 12,000 young individuals across Jordan, and consultations with over 10,000 stakeholders, including youth, government ministries, private sector leaders, educational institutions, and civil society organizations.
Adwan highlighted that the ministry has launched centralized programs supporting the strategy's key pillars this year. These initiatives include plans to revitalize youth centers by enhancing infrastructure, staff training, and expanding programs focused on youth.
He urged international partners to shift from fragmented, standalone initiatives to integrated programs that align with national priorities. Adwan stressed that coordinating aid and leveraging past investments would prevent duplication, maximize impact, and ensure sustainability.
Omar Al-Fanek confirmed the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation's commitment to facilitating international support and directing aid towards youth projects in accordance with Jordan's bilateral cooperation agreements.
International representatives and ambassadors commended the strategy's inclusive methodology and pledged their support for adopting the National Youth Strategy 2026-2030 as a key reference for youth-related investments, employment, education, and sustainable development.
