Omani Shura Council Delegation Visits Jordanian Ministry to Enhance Parliamentary Cooperation

Amman:A delegation from the Omani Shura Council visited the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs to gain insights into its institutional role and parliamentary framework.

According to Jordan News Agency, Parliamentary Affairs Director Khalid Jama'at explained that the ministry acts as a liaison between the Jordanian government and Parliament. He detailed the ministry's processes for tracking parliamentary sessions, monitoring decisions, and coordinating legislative oversight, including inquiries and memos, with government ministries to ensure compliance with constitutional deadlines.

Political Parties Director Fakhri Shneikat highlighted Jordan's political modernization efforts, describing the initiative as a cultural shift towards establishing a program-based, party-driven parliament.

Head of the Youth Division Qusai Zu'bi emphasized the impact of updated legislative frameworks on expanding opportunities for youth and women in decision-making and policy formulation.

Omani delegation leader Muslim bin Saeed Musn, Assistant Secretary-General for Committees and Information, praised Jordan's efforts to institutionalize parliamentary work and broaden political participation. He noted the similarities in legislative frameworks and expressed a desire for deeper cooperation and knowledge sharing to enhance bilateral relations and joint Arab action.
