Export Support Program for SMEs Unveiled at Irbid Workshop

Irbid:An introductory workshop was organized at the Irbid Chamber of Commerce by the Jordan Export (JE) Company, in collaboration with the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), focusing on the "From Local to Global" program. The event aimed to assist Jordanian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in enhancing their readiness to access regional and global markets.

According to Jordan News Agency, Mohammad Shouheh, Director General of the chamber, highlighted that the program provides commercial and service-oriented companies with the opportunity to understand the requirements for foreign market expansion. It also offers available technical and financial support essential for this transition.

Khaled Sa'oub, Acting CEO of JE, explained that the program targets 100 SMEs from different governorates in the Kingdom. Its goal is to expand the base of Jordanian exporters by developing company capabilities and enhancing knowledge of target markets and export requirements. The program also provides the necessary technical and financial support for this transformation.

Key presentations were delivered by Imad Bdoor, Head of JEDCO Studies Department, and Haitham Faour, Director of EH Horizontal Support. They outlined the program's online application process, eligibility criteria, funding, support stages, and the necessary documentation and procedures for applicants. The program supports sectors such as information and communication technology (ICT) and management and engineering consultancy.

The program, which targets officially registered, privately owned SMEs that are members of Jordanian chambers of industry or commerce, is part of broader efforts to boost the competitiveness of the private sector and expand the base of Jordanian exports.
