Financial Literacy Program Expands to Southern Jordan with Karak Session

Karak:The national financial awareness and economic education program, "Your Financial Compass," held its fourth session in Karak, marking its first event in southern Jordan following earlier sessions in Ajloun, Salt, and Mafraq.

According to Jordan News Agency, the program is implemented by Al-Dustour Center for Economic Studies in partnership with national media outlets and supported by CFI Jordan. It aims to enhance financial literacy and assist participants in making more informed financial and investment decisions.

Awni Dawood, president of Al-Dustour Center for Economic Studies and the program's executive director, stated that the Karak session extends the initiative's reach, focusing on presenting economic and financial concepts in accessible language. The program also aims to help participants identify reliable information and detect fraudulent claims of unrealistic investment returns.

Economic expert Fayeq Hijazin emphasized that financial literacy begins with understanding money management and saving, advancing through continuous learning and practical experience. He recommended consulting specialists, verifying the credibility of financial entities, and thoroughly assessing investment opportunities before making decisions.

Ahmad Al-Majali of the All Jordan Youth Commission in Karak noted that the program's themes are consistent with efforts to enhance young people's understanding of economic and development issues. The session gathered young people, women, local community representatives, and journalists, with discussions focusing on money management, financial planning, saving, basic investment principles, and the risks associated with offers promising rapid returns.
