Amman:Minister of Youth Raed Adwan inaugurated the 21st Arab Capitals Youth Meeting in Amman on Sunday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the five-day event is organized in collaboration with the Arab League and includes youth delegations from 14 Arab countries. In his speech, Adwan emphasized the importance of youth development in Jordan, highlighting it as a national priority. He also discussed the potential of esports as a global industry capable of creating quality jobs, noting Jordan's role as a regional hub for this sector. Outcomes from the meeting will be submitted to the Council of Arab Ministers for Youth and Sports.
Faisal Ghassal, Director of Youth and Sports at the Arab League, praised the meeting for its focus on esports, which integrates technology, decision-making, and teamwork. Yemeni delegate Shahd Qutabi appreciated Jordan's hospitality and the event's contribution to fostering collaboration among Arab youth.
The opening ceremony included a video showcasing previous meetings and a performance by the Jordanian Ma'an Folklore Troupe. Throughout the event, delegates will participate in panel discussions, field trips, and cultural activities centered on digital innovation and regional cooperation.
The countries represented at the meeting include Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Tunisia, the UAE, and Yemen.
