Hashemite University and French Embassy Explore Academic Partnership

Amman:Hashemite University Rector Khaled Hyari and the French Embassy's Scientific and University Cooperation Attach, Oissila Saaidia, have engaged in discussions on enhancing scientific and academic cooperation between Hashemite University and French universities.

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions focused on various aspects of collaboration, including faculty and student exchanges, joint programs, research initiatives, and conferences. The talks also explored the sharing of French expertise in applied and technical education, as well as the teaching of Arabic and French. Additionally, there were discussions on hosting and participating in French higher education fairs and the potential establishment of a French educational and cultural corner at Hashemite University.

Hyari emphasized the university's commitment to strengthening academic ties with French institutions, noting the availability of French-language courses for all students and specific offerings for the students of the Queen Rania Faculty of Tourism and Heritage. He also expressed the university's readiness to engage in any events that foster these relationships. Hyari highlighted that the university currently serves approximately 30,000 students, has graduated over 120,000 individuals, and offers around 100 academic programs ranging from intermediate diplomas to doctorates.

Saaidia expressed the interest of French universities in expanding their cooperation with Jordanian institutions. While existing partnerships predominantly focus on scientific disciplines, there is a growing interest in extending collaboration to the social sciences and humanities and in increasing the involvement of female students in exchange programs. During her visit, Saaidia toured the Deanship of Academic Development and the Language Center and examined the university's facilities.
