Temporary Traffic Diversions Announced for Amman’s Istiqlal Street

Amman:The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) will temporarily close sections of Istiqlal Street over the next two nights. The closures will occur between Istiqlal Hospital and Al-Dakhiliyah Circle to facilitate the dismantling of pedestrian bridges.

According to Jordan News Agency, the full lane closures are set to ensure public safety and will be in effect overnight from midnight until 8:00 a.m. for two days.

GAM has announced specific detours during the work hours. Traffic from Al-Dakhiliyah Circle will be redirected as follows: drivers should turn right onto Khaled Ben Al-Walid Street, then left onto Al-Jalil Street, followed by a left onto Muhammad Hwaimel Al-Zaben Street, and continue toward Al-Urdon Street, also known as Jordan Street.

For traffic heading uphill from Raghadan Palace Bridge toward Al-Dakhiliyah Circle, drivers will need to turn right at Al-Zahir Bibars Bridge toward Jordan Street and Queen Rania Street.

GAM has urged drivers to follow instructions from traffic police and adhere to posted warning signs to maintain safety and traffic flow.
