AKEED Documents 94 Rumors in September, Mainly from Domestic Sources

Amman:The Jordanian Media Credibility Monitor (AKEED) tracked 94 rumors throughout September, averaging more than three per day. The majority of these rumors stemmed from domestic sources within the Kingdom.

According to Jordan News Agency, a report released by AKEED on Thursday highlighted that 78 of the rumors originated inside Jordan, while 16 came from external sources.

Social media was identified as the primary platform for the spread of rumors, accounting for 55 of the cases. The remaining 39 rumors were spread through various media outlets.

Rumors concerning public affairs were the most frequently recorded category during September, as noted by AKEED, which functions under the Jordan Media Institute.
