Amman:Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) President Ayman Alawneh and Spanish Ambassador Jos© Luis Pardo Cuerdo met on Wednesday to explore avenues for enhancing trade, investment, and collaboration within the private sector.
According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions included reviving the Jordanian-Spanish Business Council, established in 1995, to serve as a platform for corporate partnerships and market data exchange. Alawneh emphasized the importance of the Jordan-EU Investment Conference as a means to draw Spanish investment into various sectors, including energy, infrastructure, logistics, manufacturing, tourism, and technology. He advocated for increased trade delegations and direct business-to-business meetings.
Ambassador Cuerdo expressed Spain's commitment to fostering mutual private sector partnerships and highlighted the potential for growth in both countries' open economies. He also pledged to promote Jordan's investment opportunities to Spanish businesses.
The discussions also covered potential collaborations on infrastructure projects, renewable energy initiatives, and regional reconstruction efforts.
