Abu Dhabi:Minister of Justice Bassam Talhouni participated in a ministerial event on international judicial cooperation organized by the UAE Ministry of Justice. This event was held on the sidelines of the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
According to Jordan News Agency, the event, titled "Strengthening International Judicial Cooperation The UAE Experience and Global Partnerships," focused on enhancing cooperation among countries, exchanging legal and judicial expertise, and improving coordination mechanisms to address challenges posed by transnational crime.
During the discussions, Talhouni shared Jordan's experience and stance on various aspects of international judicial cooperation. He emphasized the need for developing legal frameworks and boosting coordination among countries and judicial and legal institutions.
The discussions also covered topics such as mutual legal assistance, extradition, asset recovery and confiscation, legal frameworks, and international agreements. Strategies to enhance cooperation among relevant authorities and further develop judicial coordination mechanisms were also addressed.
Jordan's participation in this congress is part of its ongoing efforts to expand international legal and judicial cooperation. The Kingdom aims to exchange expertise and practices, support measures to combat transnational crime, uphold the rule of law, and strengthen criminal justice.
