Moscow: Chairman of the Jordanian-Russian Parliamentary Friendship Association, MP Abdul Hadi Breizat, participated in four sessions over two days at the World People Assembly in Moscow. The sessions focused on peace and traditional values, health amid global challenges, scientific, educational, and trade partnerships in Greater Eurasia, and international tourism and prospects for development and cooperation.
According to Jordan News Agency, Breizat emphasized Jordan's commitment to moderation and dialogue, both domestically and internationally, during a session titled "Building an International Community of Ambassadors for Traditional Values." He highlighted King Abdullah II's efforts in confronting extremism and promoting religious and cultural diversity through initiatives like the Amman Message and the World Interfaith Harmony Week.
In a session on health protocols, Breizat discussed the global implications of health security, noting the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic. He stressed the importance of establishing systems for prevention and early response, and highlighted the role of science, data, and technology in serving the public. Breizat also outlined Jordan's health modernization goals, including universal health coverage and an integrated digital health system, while emphasizing the region's challenges due to wars and displacement.
Breizat further addressed the significance of Greater Eurasia partnerships in science, education, and business. He argued that these partnerships should extend beyond geography and trade to include knowledge and skilled human resources, aligning with Jordan's economic modernization efforts and investment in education and technology.
In the final session, Breizat showcased Jordan's tourism sector as a model for civilizational and humanitarian dialogue. He detailed the Kingdom's diverse tourism offerings and efforts to expand its international presence, particularly in cultural and heritage tourism, and noted the significance of religious tourism with sites like Christian pilgrimage locations, as Jordan prepares for the 2,000th anniversary of the baptism of Jesus Christ in 2030.
