King Abdullah II and President Xi Jinping Discuss Strategic Partnership and Regional Stability

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II held talks with China President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Monday, focusing on strengthening the Strategic Partnership between Jordan and China, alongside discussions on recent regional and global developments.

According to Jordan News Agency, the talks, attended by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II and Princess Salma bint Abdullah II, highlighted the nearly 50-year-long deep-rooted ties between Jordan and China. These ties are built on shared values, mutual respect, and cooperation in political, economic, and humanitarian areas. King Abdullah II emphasized Jordan's eagerness to expand cooperation in various fields, following fruitful discussions in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen on enhancing economic collaboration in sectors like agriculture, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and education.

The King remarked on the significance of the cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding signed during his visit, which reflect a shared determination to strengthen bilateral ties. He also commended China's development model and its leadership on the international stage.

Regional developments were also on the agenda, with King Abdullah II and President Xi agreeing on the importance of achieving de-escalation and stability in the Middle East. President Xi recalled the respectful and mutually beneficial 49-year diplomatic relationship between China and Jordan and expressed China's readiness to enhance strategic trust and cooperation. He also emphasized the need for a just solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and supported Jordan's role in maintaining regional stability and the Hashemite Custodianship over holy sites in Jerusalem.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, several Jordanian ministers, and both countries' ambassadors, underscoring the significance of the discussions in furthering the strategic relationship between Jordan and China.
