Attarat Power Company Launches Initiative to Support First-Grade Students in Umm Ar-Rasas

Umm ar-rasas: Attarat Power Company (APCO) on Sunday launched an initiative by distributing school bags and stationery to all first-grade students in the Umm Ar-Rasas district in Amman governorate, in coordination with the Um Umm Ar-Rasas municipality.

According to Jordan News Agency, the "Small Steps, Big Dreams" campaign aims to ease financial pressure on families ahead of the new academic year and help children begin their education with confidence, APCO said in a statement. Nour Ma'aitah, the company's public relations chief, emphasized the importance of education as the foundation for a bright future for both children and the community.

Ma'aitah highlighted APCO's commitment to supporting children at the start of their academic journey, fostering an environment that encourages learning and ambition. She noted that APCO continues to carry out community initiatives to address the needs of residents near its project site, underscoring the company's commitment to expanding its development role across Jordan's governorates.

The campaign reflects a partnership model between Jordan's private sector and local institutions to support education and empower children. APCO described these children as central to building a more prosperous and sustainable society. Based on official figures, APCO represents Jordan's largest foreign direct investment, valued at $2.1 billion. The project comprises two power-generation units with a combined net capacity of 470 megawatts, using the country's abundant local oil shale resources to reduce reliance on imported gas and strengthen national energy security.
