Riyadh: Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia and other Arab and Islamic countries have publicly condemned Israel's declared rejection of the roadmap for completing the implementation of the US President's comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza. According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Turkey, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates have collectively criticized Israel's opposition to the roadmap laid out by US President Donald Trump. This plan, which has been endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, aims to end the conflict in Gaza and establish a Palestinian state. The ministers emphasized that Israel's stance poses a direct threat to the plan's execution and undermines global efforts for a just and lasting peace. The rejection places the responsibility on Israel for hindering peace efforts in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories. The roadmap, which has garnered acceptance from various Palestinian factions, is t he result of extensive mediation efforts by countries including Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, along with the United States and the High Representative for Gaza. It outlines significant steps such as limiting weapons, withdrawing Israeli forces, deploying an international stabilization force, transferring administrative authority to a national committee in Gaza, and initiating reconstruction efforts in the region. The foreign ministers assert that Israel's refusal to adhere to the roadmap threatens to derail President Trump's efforts to conclude the war in Gaza and establish lasting peace. They call for continued US involvement to ensure Israel's compliance with the plan's commitments and prevent further disruptions to its implementation. The ministers further stress that Israel bears full responsibility for any adverse consequences resulting from its continued refusal, including any escalation of tensions or disruption of peace efforts in Gaza. They highlight the urgent necessity for the comprehensive plan's fu ll implementation to address humanitarian needs, ensure regional security, and promote the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international law. Reaffirming their support for a two-state solution, the ministers emphasize the importance of establishing a sovereign Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. They reject any unilateral actions that could impede this process, stressing that such measures undermine regional peace, security, and stability. The foreign ministers also urged the Peace Council, with US support, to take immediate actions to uphold the integrity of the comprehensive plan and prevent any obstructions to its execution.
