Ajloun Cable Car Attracts Over 1.4 Million Visitors Since 2023 Launch

Ajloun: The Ajloun Cable Car has significantly boosted tourism in the governorate since its inception in 2023, drawing over 1.4 million visitors and evolving into a pivotal economic engine, according to Director-General of Development Zones Reem Sahawneh.

According to Jordan News Agency, Sahawneh, speaking during the 3rd Ajloun Cable Car Summer Festival, highlighted the transformation of the cable car from merely a ride to a cornerstone of domestic tourism and a cultural hub for regional events, festivals, and local artisans.

She emphasized that the impact of the cable car extends far beyond the number of riders. By pairing scenic journeys with local craft markets and cultural programming, the initiative supports local businesses including restaurants, guides, transportation providers, and rural producers.

Sahawneh advocated for the integration of the cable car with other attractions in Ajloun, such as Ajloun Castle, the nature reserve, restaurants, rest areas, and markets to further enhance its appeal.

Tareq Maaytah, Director of the Ajloun Development Zone, supported this vision, stating that the aim is not just to have people visit the cable car but to explore Ajloun through it. During the Eid al-Adha holiday alone, the facility attracted over 10,000 visitors in just three days, as per Maaytah.

He observed that the Ajloun Cable Car quickly became a prominent landmark, offering travelers a gateway to experience the governorate's natural beauty, rich culture, and local attractions throughout the year.
