Amman: The Cabinet met on Tuesday following a Royal Decree approving a limited cabinet reshuffle. During the session chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, the Cabinet restructured the Economic Modernization Vision and Development Committee, placing it under the jurisdiction of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Muhannad Shehadeh.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Council of Ministers also reorganized the Services, Infrastructure, and Social Affairs Committee, appointing Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration Walid Masri as its head. In its statement earlier, the Prime Minister's Office stated that the appointment of two deputy prime ministers will bolster oversight over economic and municipal portfolios, while accelerating priority national projects.
The Cabinet also accepted the resignation of Yousef Shawarbeh, Chairman of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Committee, appointing Ahmad Malkawi as his successor. Additionally, Riya Al-Qadi and Lara Ayoub were appointed as GAM Committee members.
The Cabinet has ordered the dissolution of all industrial chamber boards effective September 1, paving the way for elections on October 3. To continue services, interim management committees will be named by the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply under Article 19 of the Industrial Chambers Law No. 56 of 2005.
