NEPCO Completes Electrification of Zarqa Industrial City Substation

Amman: The National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) has completed the electrification works of the Zarqa Industrial City 132/33 kV Substation, as part of its efforts to enhance the reliability of the national electricity grid, improve operational efficiency and keep pace with the increasing electricity demand, particularly from the industrial sector.

According to Jordan News Agency, the company stated that the project is one of the electrical infrastructure projects aimed at providing a stable and reliable electricity supply to Zarqa Industrial City, supporting the continuity of industrial activity and the development expansion in the area.

NEPCO's teams carried out the project works in line with the approved schedule, including installation works, operational tests and final commissioning, leading to the readiness of the substation and its connection to the national electricity grid.

The company highlighted that the project includes six 132 kV circuits, comprising two transmission line circuits and two power transformer circuits, with each transformer having a capacity of 80 MVA, in addition to two circuits for sectionalizing and coupling the main and backup busbars.

NEPCO noted that the Zarqa Industrial City Substation will contribute to enhancing the reliability and stability of the national electricity grid and improving its capacity to meet current and future electricity loads, supporting industrial expansion in the area.
