Jordan, Qatar Foreign Ministers Discuss De-escalation and Cooperation

Amman: Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi held talks by phone on Monday with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani to discuss relations and regional developments. The talks focused on strengthening Jordanian-Qatari ties and expanding cooperation across various sectors.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ministers reviewed ongoing regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and promoting security and stability in the region. They emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy, as well as the implementation of agreements reached under the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Both ministers expressed their countries' commitment to supporting efforts to reduce regional tensions and achieve a comprehensive agreement that addresses the root causes of instability. They underscored the importance of promoting lasting peace and security.
