Amman: An official military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army reported that the Royal Jordanian Air Force successfully intercepted and neutralized four missiles and six Iranian drones targeting Jordanian territory over the past 24 hours.
According to Jordan News Agency, air defense systems managed to intercept and shoot down three of the incoming missiles on Thursday morning, while the fourth missile landed in a remote uninhabited area. The source further revealed that the six drones were intercepted and neutralized yesterday evening, confirming that these operations resulted in no casualties or material damage.
Teams from the Royal Engineering Corps were swiftly deployed to the crash sites and locations of the interception debris to secure the areas and neutralize any remaining hazards, following established technical and security procedures, the source added.
The source emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army remains vigilant in monitoring Jordanian airspace and maintains a high level of operational readiness to respond to any threats against the Kingdom's security and the safety of its citizens, adhering to the applicable rules of engagement.
Additionally, the source urged citizens to avoid approaching areas where objects or debris have fallen, to report any such findings immediately, rely on official sources for information, and refrain from spreading rumors or unverified reports.
