Amman: Tourism revenues in the Kingdom declined by 5.3% during the first half of 2026, reaching USD 3.5 billion, according to preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan. However, tourism revenues increased by 7.0% in June 2026 to USD 685.0 million.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Central Bank said in a press statement that the decline in tourism revenues during the first half of the year was mainly attributed to lower receipts from Jordanian expatriates, which fell by 12.1%, as well as declines in revenues from American visitors 25.6%, European visitors 28.2%, Asian nationalities 3.5%, and other nationalities 40.6%. Meanwhile, tourism revenues from Arab visitors increased by 6.5% during the same period.
The data also showed that tourism spending by Jordanians and residents decreased by 6.7% in June 2026 to USD 182.4 million. During the first half of 2026, tourism spending declined by 9.4% to USD 906.1 million.
