FM, Bahraini Counterpart Condemn Iranian Attacks on Jordan, GCC Countries

Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani on Sunday affirmed their condemnation of the Iranian attacks on Jordan, Bahrain, and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and their "absolute" solidarity in confronting these strikes.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a phone call, the two ministers warned of the dangers of continued escalation and its threat to regional and international peace and security. The duo also stressed the necessity of de-escalating the situation and returning to negotiations as a means to resolve the crisis and reach a "comprehensive" solution that addresses all the root causes of the tension.

Safadi and Al Zayani emphasized the need to guarantee freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with international law.
