Amman: Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Jarrah Sabah discussed regional tensions and efforts to de-escalate the crisis during a phone call on Tuesday. Both ministers urged for the immediate implementation of a US-Iran ceasefire, calling for a return to negotiations to achieve a comprehensive solution that resolves the root causes of tension and secures lasting stability.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministers emphasized the importance of guaranteeing freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law. Safadi and Sabah also condemned Iranian strikes targeting Jordan, Kuwait, and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations.
They further denounced the Houthi attacks on southern Saudi Arabia, expressing "full support for all measures" taken by Riyadh to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability.
