Amman: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) general price index experienced a notable increase of 1.02 percent, closing at 3,912 points on Tuesday. Total trading volume for the day reached JD14.6 million, reflecting a robust engagement from investors.
According to Jordan News Agency, the trading session saw investors exchanging 5 million shares through 4,481 contracts. The performance of various sectors contributed to the overall rise in the index. The services sector index saw a significant climb of 1.82 percent, leading the gains. The financial sector also experienced a positive uptick, rising by 0.77 percent, while the industrial sector recorded a modest gain of 0.37 percent.
Out of the 95 companies traded on the exchange, 48 companies reported gains in their closing prices compared to the previous session, while 13 companies experienced losses. This diverse performance across sectors and companies underlines the dynamic nature of the trading environment on the ASE.
